Job Summary: The Overhead Crane Operator os responsible for safely operating overhead cranes to move steel materials, components, and finished products throughout the production facility. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are transported efficiently and accurately while following safety standards and production requirements. The ideal candidate is attentive, safet-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate overhead crane equipment to move raw materials and finished products.
  • Lift, position, and transport steel components to designated work areas.
  • Inspect loads to ensure proper rigging and secure handling prior to movement.
  • Follow established safety procedures and company policies at all times.
  • Communicate with production teams to coordinate material movement.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent accidents and damage.
  • Assist with staging materials to support production flow.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Meet or exceed daily productivity expectations.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous overhead crane operating experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
  • Basic understanding of material handling practices.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced production setting.
